The Barnyard Animal series is based on the animals that live with the artists at Blue Oaks Organics in Northern California.
Phil & Ana have been working together on paintigs for over 15 years. The process involves drawings and original acrylic paintings (generally 24x36 in). The artists pass the drawings and paintings back and forth until they are satisfied with the final image/painting.
It is a unique collaboration and has produced some very positive and beautiful results over the last 15 years. The artists have also collaborated on several "Artists Books" together, notably The Legend of Birdtoe, Moto & Kozo Visit the Museum of Modern Art, and Moto & Kozo: New Friends.
And, no, Bunny doesn't really smoke...but she does unravel cigarettes and lick the gum off the paper.
